[Idea] Jass Newsletter

I don't know if it is the right place but let do it here.

My idea is to create a Newsletter that will talk about news scripts and news scripts update. To keep everyone informed about what is going on. It will be much more smarter than checking by yourself every script's subject that you are using.
The Newsletter will be sent every week or two weeks.

What do you think about this ?

Actually, I'm thinking in a news section for wc3jass.com focused in the scripts of the month. I hope we're thinking in the same idea

I think he is thinking of sending a pm to every user about the latest Scripts every week or 2, but I prefer your idea moyack, its more simple to just post a news thread about the latest scripts that we have than having a hellish time to make a script that will send a pm to every user about that latest scripts every week or 2

But we can do both things. As admins we can use the Announcement functionality, which sends e-mails to users.

Frankly it seems overkill, it's not like we will have billion of updates or new scripts each week or even each month/year, whatever.

That's the point, after some time we don't check the topic of the script because there is nothing going on, and we miss some update.
A email every month will keep everyone informed.

One email a month is better than 10 topic notification.

But now think about how many scripts you really use, and how many scripts that you have no use you will be warned about an update.
For me, it would be annoying, now if it's an option that's ok, and personnaly i never check this e-mail, i'm just trying to give my opinion.

One e-mail for all update.
If the e-mail is well written the number of scripts won't matter.

My main point is that i consider really overkill comparing to the relative useless feature added.
Now, it's just me, and anyway it's still fine to suggest something rather than nothing.

The best thing we should do is to give a try. Right now I have office stuff that I'm trying to finish this so I can put all the energy on this. Plus I want to do new news for Blizzmodding section about the new features and coming projects.

Let's summon The coder mod here (AKA Mag) so he can bring some ideas.

We can have a "Subscribe" feature to each Code thread ^_^
If you subscribe to a code thread, you will get an e-mail whenever the owner of the thread updates his script.
To avoid spamming e-mails for simple non-code oriented updates, we can have something like a "Notify" button.
This "Notify" button would send the e-mails, and it would only function if your code post has been edited at least once after the last time you clicked "Notify".
It's a really cool idea in my opinion :3
